I am a recently retired Air Traffic Controller with extensive experience – now offering my services as a consultant. My background includes:
ATC operations
I have worked in towers, procedure and radar approach and en-route – for civil and military traffic. I was an ATC Centre Watch Supervisor from 2005 until 2020 where I also worked with Flow and Airspace Management.
Training
I have worked with training – classroom teaching, simulator instruction, exercise production, course management and curriculum development for many years.
Quality and safety
I have been a q-coach and a member of quality boards. I have done safety assessments as a safety specialist. I have undertaken safety training and participated in safety conferences. I’m a frequent author of safety related articles in the Eurocontrol Hindsight magazine.
Human Factors
I was awarded an MSc with Merit in Human Factors in Aviation after studies with Coventry University, I am accredited as a Human Factors Specialist by the European Association of Aviation Psychology and am certified by Eurocontrol as a Human Factors Practitioner.
International
I was a member of two Eurocontrol Task Forces. I have worked for UN/ICAO in projects in Africa – I was managing a project to provide surveillance control and was the ICAO ANS Expert in Namibia. I made a safety assessment of the introduction of ADS-C and CPDLC in Nigeria and I supplied the relocation plan and safety assessment for the FIS in Mogadishu FIR.
Projects
During my final years with LFV I was frequently asked to take part in short-time projects – I supported LFV headquarters as a senior ATM Adviser, I worked in a project to investigate a national airspace strategy, I managed the enroute contribution to the LFV EU-regulation 373-project, I wrote the Operational descriptions for Swedish Enroute services for “the Continuation Project” and initiated the project to merge two Operational Manuals into one.
Finally
I am now looking for new opportunities. I will consider short-time assignments, part-time and full-time jobs and am willing to relocate.
